"Of all creatures God made at the creation, there is none more excellent, or so much to be respected, than the horse"
The intensity, mystique and beauty of the horses portrayed in Emelie’s paintings has inspired and captivated art collectors from all over the world. As a teenager she exhibited her artwork at local sell-out exhibitions in Sweden. Over time, the demand for her original paintings and limited editions has steadily increased on the international art scene. Today she is being commissioned to create equine portraits for some of the most well known riders and breeders in the world.
At merely 3 years old, Emelie fell in love with horses as she found herself alone in the midst of a large herd of horses grazing the pastures surrounding her childhood home. Her love for the individuals making up the herd grew into a fascination which led her on a lifelong journey to study and capture the complexity and true personalities of these beautiful, mythical animals.
She continues to study dressage and horsemanship with internationally recognised trainers in pursuit of deepening her understanding for the horses. She has created a mixture of freedom dressage, horsemanship and classical dressage which allows her horses to keep their pride and happiness throughout the training towards Grand Prix dressage. Emelie has spent nearly a decade as a professional dressage rider, training her personal horses to ever higher levels and finding them loving new homes all over the world.
Her poetic approach to horses, combined with a technique which merges thickly applied layers of paint with invisible brushstrokes, creates powerful statement pieces that stand out in any collection.
Emelie´s calling in life is to bring to others a piece of the magic she experienced with horses throughout her life, through her artwork.
